Money & Stuff

What a ride!!! The markets have hurt almost all of us (on paper) and those that pulled out have truly been hurt. It has been a wonderful time to buy some of the down stocks and funds, so some people have done well. The housing thing will be worked out this year, I hope, but unemployment is what really worries me. Spending is what keeps this plate spinning and if you have no job you have no $$$$ to spend. The use of Credit Cards is just spending money that you do not have. No one has ever been able to borrow their way out of debt. We still have a lot to overcome but maybe the worst is over. I sure would not want to be Mr. Obama. Don’t know why anyone would want the job much less fight for it!!

Just in case you have not heard, the twins are Boys. As you read this, they may be here and doing fine. Kadie is crazy about horses. Anything to do with horses. She told me she likes the smell of horse poo. Sure hope she grows out of that. Ethan was elected V.P. of his preschool class. I don’t know how much he spent on the campaign and Tyler is into cookies, candy, and ice-cream. My kinda kids! What a JOY they are.

I know how hard it is to stay invested in this kind of market, but remember that you have only lost when you sell, and believe me I know just how cheap talk is. If you feel that need to have someone look at your investments, 401(k), IRA, or any other plan you have, just give me a call. My extension is 227. There is no cost for my services as I am just one of the great benefits –of Credit Union membership.

Investments are not NCUA insured, not credit union guaranteed and may lose value. Registered Representative, Securities offered through B & I Co., a Broker/Dealer, Member NASD/SIPC Investment Advisor Representative, B & I., a Registered investment Advisor.

Note from the President

In today’s uncertain market, PFCCU is proud to provide you – our valued members – with the safety and security you deserve from your financial institution. We are growing stronger than ever, and in the true spirit of a financial cooperative, we’ve managed our business based on the best interest of the credit union and membership. You can rest assured knowing you have a solid foundation in your decision to save with PFCCU.

You can see the strength of your credit union in our ability to maintain our promise of low, competitive loan rates and exceptional offers. Our current Auto Loan Promotion not only offers great low rates and flexible terms – but an additional 1% Cash Back on any new or used auto loan from a different financial institution. We are confident this offer is one that will provide the value and benefit you’ve come to expect with PFCCU.

In addition to the proven trust and security of PFCCU, we also want to make sure you know that all of our investments are insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) up to $250,000. The NCUA is a federal agency that oversees credit unions and insures savings through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF) – a federal fund back by the full faith and credit of the United States government. For more information about the NCUA, visit www.ncua.gov.

We want all of our members to know that we will continue to provide you with the best financial products and services available regardless of what’s going on in the general marketplace – it’s the commitment we’ve made to be a financial partner for you, your family, and our community. We look forward to continuing to serve you in the new year as well as for many years to come.

If you have any questions or would like to talk more about things here at PFCCU, feel free to stop by, give us a call or visit us online www.postalfed.org.

Your Money is Safe at PFCCU

Postal Federal Community Credit Union is one of the many credit unions that are included in the increase of federal savings insurance coverage from $100,000 to $250,000 per account as a part of the Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008. The increase takes effect from the date of enactment (October 3, 2008) until December 31, 2009.

PFCCU is federally insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (similar to the FDIC for banks). Federally insured savings at credit unions have the same level of coverage as savings in federally insured banks.

Important Information Regarding Your Credit

If you no longer want to receive pre-screened and pre-approved offers in the mail from credit or insurance firms, you have the right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to opt-out of receiving these offers. You can do so electronically by visiting www.OptOutPrescreen.com. You have the right to opt-out for 5 years or permanently. You may also opt-in if you currently do not receive pre-screened or pre-approved credit and insurance offers.

If you choose to opt-out, you will no longer be included in firm offer lists provided by Equifax, Experian, Innovis and TransUnion, four consumer credit reporting companies. Currently, about 6 percent of consumers with credit records have voluntarily opted-out of receiving prescreened offers. This is a strictly personal preference and a voluntary act by all consumers.

If you have any questions or would like more information, please visit www.OptOutPrescreen.com.
