Note from the President

Growth is always an exciting time. Here at PFCCU, we’re growing and looking forward to the possibilities. Don’t worry, we’ll never be so big that we treat you like a national bank, whose main concern is its stakeholders. However, as we grow, we’ll be able to give the profits back to you, our members, in the form of better products and services.

In fact, because of our recent growth, we’ll soon be able to offer e-statements. E-statements have several advantages. For one, you can cut down on clutter; without all those paper bills sitting around, it’s easier to keep tidy and organized. Obviously you also save paper, making e-statements a great way to be more environmentally conscious. Moreover, e-statements give you added convenience by letting you access your statement anywhere with an Internet connection. You don’t have to lug around a paper statement to keep track of your finances. In fact, we’re so excited about it, that anyone who signs up for e-statements gets BillPay@Home (our online bill pay service) for FREE. Now we have money market accounts, which have the primary advantage being higher returns on your money than traditional savings accounts. These new money market accounts will allow you to grow your money faster.

Keep watching for more details on upcoming e-statements and ask us how to open your new money market account. We’re always excited when we can offer members new products or better rates.

Money & Stuff

Well the “Big Boys” in Washington are saying that we may be headed for a recession. I wonder what world they are living in! The truth is that the markets are pretty flat, up today and down tomorrow. It’s that cost of living that is hurting us all. I’m just thankful that my car does not run on milk, however tomorrow I may wish it did. Interest rates are so low that one can barely afford to keep money in savings or in a CD. If you have a 401(k)-type plan and you are not putting into an International subaccount you are missing the boat. If you have questions about your plan come and see me. Your employer sponsored plan is VERY IMPORTANT!! It’s your money and you need to know how it is working and what you can do to make it GROW.

My grandkids are great and out of school and starting to really enjoy the summer. I don’t know what is planned for this summer but I am sure there will be a lot going on. Kadie wanted me to plant a bigger garden this year so we can give some stuff to the poor people, so I did. She has a very good heart for a 7 year old. Ethan wants to be fighting and wrestling with his grandpa and grandpa is OLD. Tyler is two and a half years old and talks up a storm. He is at the age when he just wants to talk all of the time. He sure has a lot to say for one who is no older than he is. We sure do love them all!!!

The response from people in Joplin about the “beneficiary deed” has been great. The requests for one of these documents are still coming in. If you do not know what a beneficiary deed is you need to call me. I will give you one and you will sure be glad to get it! It won’t cost you a thing and it could save your kids thousands. The service that I offer to you, as a member, comes at no cost. I could just be the best deal in town!! Just one more reason to be a credit union member. Tell your friends and neighbors about your Credit Union. Now, they too can belong to PFCCU!
