Congratulations, Scholar
Postal Federal Community Credit Union strives to encourage continued education among our members and throughout our local communities. We offer an annual scholarship to three graduating seniors seeking financial assistance for higher-level education and continue to provide all members with student loan opportunities. This year we awarded the Roy Tate Postal Federal Community Scholarship, a $1,000 non-renewable scholarship, to three outstanding members planning to pursue an education beyond high school. We proudly present the Roy Tate Postal Federal Community Credit Union Scholarship to the following recipients:
Casey Brown is a graduate of Diamond High School in Diamond, MO. Casey served as a member of organizations such as the Dance Team, Drama Club, and Math League. Casey also participated in high school athletics as a member of both the Volleyball and Track and Field teams. She contributed to her community by participating in her church youth group, the National Honor Society
blood drive, and as an office aide for the Elementary School Library. Casey plans to attend Missouri Southern State University to begin her studies in Physical Therapy and continue on to Missouri State University to complete her degree program. Casey hopes that by attaining her degree she can continue to do something she enjoys: positively interacting with people.
Jason Carter is a graduate of Strafford High School in Strafford, MO. Jason was a member of a variety of school-affiliated organizations such as FFA, National Honor Society, the Science Club, and the Missouri Stream Team. Jason also actively participated in his community by volunteering at the Festival of Sharing and UMM Chili Supper, contributing to his church youth group, and achieving the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout with his area Boy Scout Troup. Jason plans to attend Missouri State University and major in Conservation and Environmental Wildlife Biology. Jason hopes that his passion for our environment will be reflected in his work of protecting it from the dangers it potentially faces.
Katrina Fluekiger is a graduate of Central High School in Springfield, MO. Throughout high school, Katrina was a member of FBLA, the Science Club, and served as a member of the Central High School Stage Crew for three years. Katrina also volunteered her time for the 2002 Sunshine Fun Run community event as well as providing additional time and support to the Medical
Explorers program. She plans to attend Avila University in Kansas City, MO to major in Nursing and eventually specialize as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. Katrina hopes her own personal experiences will support her in her work with premature infants or with children who suffer from craniofacial conditions.
Note from the President
As you can see from the article in this newsletter, you can now do transactions at over 2,136 locations around the world, and
we can now do transactions for members of other shared branching credit unions from around the city, state and country. In order for us to do the transactions, the member's credit union has to be a participant in the Shared Branch Network. If that is the case, we only
need the member's account number, the name of the credit union and a photo I.D.
The following Springfield credit unions are in the Shared Branch Network: Assemblies of God, CU Community and Community Financial. The following other Missouri credit unions are in the Shared Branch Network: Aerospace Community, American Eagle, Anheuser-Busch
Employees, Century, Community America, County, Electro Savings, First Missouri, Gateway Regional, Gateway Metro, Health Care Family, Laclede Family Savings, Neighbors, Southpointe, Spirit of St. Louis, St. Louis Community, West Community, First Financial,
Missouri, River Region, Mazuma, Midwest United, United Consumers and Yellow Financial. There are many other credit unions in other states that are also in the Shared Branch Network.
If you are a member of another credit union that is a participant, you can now do the transactions at Postal Federal Community and you won't have to mail or wire funds to and from the other credit union. Even better, there is no cost to you.
Money & Stuff

If you get a card in the mail from the "Annuity Service Center of Medina, OH" don't call them. It's just a fishing expedition.
I have not told you about my grandkids for a while so let me get you up to speed. I have a new grandson, Tyler Carrington Thomas.
He is probably the best baby ever, maybe with the exception of Kadie and Ethan. He is now about 2 months old and just the happiest boy ever. I got him a $50,000 life insurance policy, and at his age it's only $17 per month. He will be able to use the money in
it for college if he needs it. Life insurance is something that no one wants until they either cannot get it or cannot afford it. I also did this for Kadie and Ethan when they were born and now they are 6 and 4. Time sure speeds by. Grandchildren are such a delight and joy. I just do whatever they tell me to do.
Well, the economy is growing and while we will probably have a flat market for the summer, I think we will have a year-end rally.
Interest rates will continue to go up, and if we could all jog to work we could sure save a lot of money!
Our next financial seminar will include a panel of experts talking about subjects important to you like: the current investment
market, estate planning, retirement planning, college funds and whatever topics you bring up for discussion.

We now have 2,136 branches

The PFCCU Seminole, Sunset, Branson and Joplin locations are now Shared Branch Service Centers. There are currently 1,234 Credit Unions participating in the Shared Branch Network. What this means to you as a PFCCU member is that you can utilize any of the 2,136 shared branching locations across the world. Shared branching is a cooperative network of credit unions that have joined together and created shared service centers across the country. By sharing facilities, credit unions can offer greater convenience for members to access their accounts at many locations just as if you were at your credit union.
Members can enter any shared service center and conduct a range of transaction services, such as:
- Cash checks
- Make deposits and withdrawals
- Make loan payments
- Make transfers between accounts
- Purchase Money Orders, Travelers Checks and Official Checks
- Obtain cash advances and balance inquiries
To take advantage of this service, when members enter a shared branch you only need to bring:
- Your credit union's name
- Your account number
- Photo identification
To find any location, click on our Locations link and then our Shared Branch Locations link. From there, you can click on the link
for all locations in Missouri. For locations everywhere, click on our locations link then click on the Service Centers Locations link.
