75th Annual Meeting and Celebration
Since 1929, Postal Federal Community Credit Union has
been providing exceptional products and service to our
members. To celebrate our 75-year heritage, on April 19th
the credit union held its annual meeting and dinner for
members, staff and volunteers at the Tower Club in
Springfield. The dinner and meeting was a time for the
members, staff and volunteers of PFCCU to mix and mingle.
Before the meeting, members enjoyed a photo presentation of PFCCU’s
75-year history. During the meeting, Rosie Holub (Pictured), President/CEO
of the Missouri Credit Union Association spoke on the benefits of credit
union membership and the differences between credit unions and banks;
and David Phelps (Pictured), PFCCU Chairman of the Board, announced
the results of the elections to the Board and volunteer committees.
In recognition of our 75th diamond anniversary, PFCCU gave away a
man’s and a woman’s diamond ring during the event. The evening was
a dazzling celebration—75 years in the making!

The ABCs of ACH
The thought of a service that magically transfers money from one account to exactly where you need it is both mysterious and wonderful. Automated Clearing House (ACH) service can save you time and effort, making your financial life considerably easier. It’s important, then, to understand the simple steps and pointers that can help you take advantage of ACH.
In order to set up ACH transfers, you must provide the routing number and entire 14-digit account number, which are printed on your checks for reference.
It’s easy, convenient, secure, and—best of all—free. So simplify your finances and enjoy more free time by setting up your Automated Clearing House services today.
USE YOUR ACCOUNT NUMBER TO SET UP:
• Direct deposit of your payroll,Social Security,
or even tax refunds
• Direct payment of consumer bills such as
mortgages, loans, utility bills and insurance
premiums
• Business-to-business payments
• E-checks
• E-commerce payments
• Federal, state and local tax payments
• One-time or recurring transfers of funds
Why you should join the BillPay@Home crowd
Postal Federal Community Credit Union members who use BillPay@Home enjoy ease and convenience that others simply don’t. They enjoy more security and free time. They have greater control over cash flow and when their bills are paid. Join the crowd! It’s a good one to be a part of, and here’s why:
• Advantage Plus Checking members get BillPay@Home for free*
• It’s more secure. According to Javelin Strategy and Research, online bill payment customers are 10% less likely to have their identities stolen than those consumers who pay the old fashioned way
• You can schedule payments to occur exactly when they are due, and you can schedule them in advance. That way,you may never miss another due date or pay another late fee. With this added control, you may also be able to keep your money in your own account longer—and you’ll know exactly when it is scheduled to be deducted from your account.
• You can set up recurring payments to be paid each month automatically. Set it up once and you’re done.
According to the research firm Tower Group, approximately one third of all American households already use online banking, and half those consumers also pay their bills online. And those numbers are growing. More and more people are joining the BillPay@Home crowd every day, and it’s easy to see why.
It’s easy to get started. Just visit PFCCU’s home page at www.postalfed.org and follow the link to BillPay@Home. You can submit your email and account information to enroll online, and you will receive the first half of your password within minutes by E-mail. For security reasons, you will receive the second half of your password by U.S.mail.
For more information about the benefits of using PFCCU’s BillPay@Home, give us a call at (417) 887-1983 or 1-800-864-5301 today.
*Otherwise, a low monthly fee applies. Advantage Checking members:$2.95, Basic Checking:$4.95. These fees are significantly lower than the nationwide average of $5.80!

Money & Stuff
Since reading the poem that I wrote at the
75th anniversary annual meeting, several
members have requested a copy of the poem.
I have decided to just put it in the newsletter
this time for all to enjoy. (By the way, Kadie
and Eathan are wonderful!)
75 years of tears and cheers
have gotten us to this point in time.
We have gathered here to celebrate
And I have made this rhyme.
Boards have come and boards have gone,
Loan officers and tellers, too.
A seemingly endless parade of folks
To help take care of you.
On Boonville it started in '29
And no one at that time knew
Just how bad things would be
By 1932.
But your credit union was always there
To help its members who
Could save a penny here and there
To loan out to some of you.
The 30’s and 40’s were pretty tough
And a good time was had by few,
But your credit union hung in there strong
And was always there for you.
Things got better in the 50’s,
60’s and 70’s, too.
We opened an office in Joplin
And, yes, it grew and grew.
The 80’s brought a new building
And a lot of new services, too.
In the 90’s we went to Branson
And the Sunset location was new.
Believe it or not, we were out of room
By the year 2000 and 2.
Our membership keeps growing
And, yes, we’ve lost a few.
But through the years and tears and cheers
It was always here for you.
Well, here we are…the very best
As voted by more than a few.
So raise your glass
And toast yourself
For it’s your PFCCU!
If you have any questions about your investments, just give me a call. I am
in your credit union.
Note from the President
I know that reading about the
latest trends in identity theft
scams can sometimes be intimidating.
After all, it is truly a shame that
criminals use the same technology
that affords us such a great standard
of living to victimize us. In addition
to the many things you can do to
avoid identity theft pitfalls, the flip
side is that your credit union is doing
everything we can to keep your
identity safe.
Postal Federal Community Credit Union
supports and abides by all federal
legislation designed to help protect
your identities and fight terrorism,
such as the USA Patriot Act. This
legislation requires that we verify
your identity when you open or
make changes to an account—and
it goes a long way toward protecting
you and your family. Taking these
steps helps prevent terrorists from
stealing members’ identities in order
to hide their activities.
In last quarter’s newsletter, we also
gave you a detailed description of
our privacy policies and security
measures. For example, we restrict
the availability of certain information about you so that only those
employees who really need to know
it have access to it. This spring, we
even hosted an identity theft seminar,
which helped teach you about some
of the many things you can do to
protect yourself.
While it’s a very serious and important
issue, you can rest assured that your
credit union has your best interest in
mind and at heart. If you would like
more information on how your credit
union protects your identity, please
give us a call and speak with a credit
union staff member. We’ll be happy
to put your mind at ease.
Be careful where you click
The low-down on E-mail scams
Just like you should be careful to not give personal information to anyone who calls you on the phone, regardless of what organization they say they represent—the same rule applies to people sending you E-mails. More and more, people across the country are falling victim to a variety of E-mail schemes designed to trick you into giving your sensitive information, making you vulnerable to identity theft.
The most popular current trend involves E-mails that appear to be sent from government agencies asking you to visit a Web site to verify your personal information. This type of scam, part of a trend known as “phishing,”directs you to Web sites that are designed to look like official government sites. These sites prompt you to verify information such as account and credit card numbers, passwords, and Social Security numbers. Sometimes the scam artists even claim to need the information in an effort to fight terrorism.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind if you spot E-mails like these in your inbox:
• Don’t reply to the E-mail or click any of the links in the E-mail.Instead,call the organization cited in the E-mail to inquire, using a phone number you can verify to be genuine.
• Review credit card and CU account statements to make sure all transactions are legitimate.
• Make sure you receive all statements on time.
• Report suspicious activity to the Federal Trade Commission by forwarding the E-mail to uce@ftc.gov.
• Victims should also file a complaint at www.ftc.gov.
The technology that makes our lives so much easier can also make identity theft easier for thieves, so being cautious and keeping these tips in mind is more important than ever. For more information on keeping your identity safe, visit www.ftc.gov/idtheft.
