Fall 2007

Two New Branches!

PFCCU's new Nixa branch opened on June 11 and PFCCU's new north side branch opened on August 27, 2007. The new Nixa branch is located at 310 W. Mt. Vernon in Nixa and the new north Springfield branch is located at 3763 N. State Highway H (North Glenstone). PFCCU has enjoyed the time at the branch inside CU Community Credit Union, but they needed the space and notified us they would not be able to renew our lease.

We now have our own full-service branch on the north side. PFCCU members for whom the Benton branch location was convenient can now be served as a PFCCU shared branch member at the Assemblies of God Credit Union location at 1535 N. Campbell Avenue.

"The opening of the north branch marks a significant event in the history of the Postal Federal Community Credit Union. For a long time we have looked forward to providing full credit union services to our membership living throughout north Springfield and Greene County. August 27th marks the beginning of that time. This accomplishment would not have been possible without the team effort put forth by our Volunteers, Management, Staff, and the "North Side Team," all working together in a magnificent way to bring this attractive facility on line for the benefit of those we serve. My thanks and congratulations to all", said board member Joy Jones. Pam Aleshire is the north Springfield branch manager and Jana Latourette is the Nixa branch manager. Stop and see us at our new locations.

Money & Stuff

PFCCU members with Christmas Club accounts will soon have their holiday funds available, which means these members may not be using their credit cards as much this Christmas. That's a good thing. If you're not familiar with the Christmas Club account ask one of the PFCCU member service representatives to tell you about it. These accounts certainly are a good way to budget for Christmas spending and most of us can use the help.

Kadie is in the first grade this year and was reading even before school started. Ethan is in preschool and just one of the boys. Tyler is into pots and pans, Tupperware and cheese puffs - it just doesn't get better than cheese puffs!! I have new pictures so stop by the office and take a look.

It has been a pretty tough third quarter for this year with some losing jobs and others losing homes. I think these events highlight the importance of saving some of our money each payday. Everyone needs an emergency fund of some kind that is easily accessible. I'm talking about savings accounts or money market accounts. Don't make them too fat, as these accounts are not investments and therefore do not make much money. These accounts are perfect for systematic saving though. If you can only save $5 per week I can assure you it will be well worth the effort. I have seen the time in my life when $200 would keep the wolf from the door. If I can help you get a systematic savings plan started, just give me a call or come by the office. There is no charge for my services as I am just one of the advantages of being a Credit Union member. Do you need an IRA, mutual fund, annuity or insurance? Do you have questions on estate planning, retirement planning, or need some good ideas on how to better manage your income? If you have a question about your investments or your retirement plan, give me a call. My extension is 227.
